Katsina State Advances Education with New School Constructions and Renovations

Baure, Sandamu, and Zango are local government areas under the Katsina State Government, which, in collaboration with the Katsina State Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning And Empowerment (AGILE) Projects, have undertaken the construction of new secondary schools and completed renovations of existing ones.

This initiative aims to complement the efforts of the Katsina State Government, led by Malam Dikko Umar Radda PhD, CON, in advancing the education sector. This year, the Katsina State Government, in collaboration with AGILE, has constructed 150 new junior and senior secondary schools (JSS and SSS) and renovated many others across the state.

Baure, Sandamu, and Zango local government areas have already benefited from this endeavor. Baure Local Government has seen the construction of four new secondary schools, including Mai Bara Junior Secondary School, GGSS Baure, Bare Secondary School, and Garki Senior Secondary School. Additionally, schools such as GGSS Baure, Hui Senior and Junior Secondary School, and GSS Garki have received renovation grants from the AGILE Project.

Sandamu Local Government has benefited from the construction of two new secondary schools, including Kagare Senior and Junior Secondary Schools, each with 12 brand new classes, purpose-built laboratories, admin blocks, assembly halls, and modern toilets for students and teachers. Several other schools in Sandamu have also received renovation grants.

In Zango Local Government area, new secondary schools are under construction, and some schools have been renovated. For instance, Garni Pilot Junior Secondary School is currently under construction, along with a new Junior Pilot Secondary School in Abubakar Shu'aibu Primary School and a new Secondary School in Dargaje Community, all equipped with modern facilities.
